Solve, sell, and submit to Young Glory

Looking for a brief that challenges the status quo rather than selling beef jerky or WD-40? Check out Young Glory. Each month, top Creative Directors from agencies around the world submit both an Advertising and Design prompt. The results are pretty bomb, and can add a bit of variety to your book.

CPS Alum creates fake ad on Craigslist, spreads faster than blue meth in the southwest

As Breaking Bad concluded last Sunday, while we were falling fast into Vince Gilligan withdrawal, CPS Alum Tom Francesconi saw an opportunity for his clients Century 21 and Mullen. The result was a well placed Craigslist ad for the all-too-perfect Albuquerque rambler home. Pizza on the roof and all. But what happened from there was a frenzy of shares, and re-tweets, even cracking one the most shared articles on Adweek.

Well done Tom, and check it out the article here.

CPS’s own Adam Repp and Andy Hunt in the running for the Big Ad Gig

Spring 2013 CPS Copywriter Adam Repp and CPS alum Andy Hunt have cracked into the top 8 finalists for the Big Ad Gig for a spot at one of 6 sweet agencies. Is it their charismatic charm? Or their bear-trap like grasp of concept that helped them snag two top spots? Well according to the requirements, probably both. Congrats Adam and Andy, and best of luck in your final presentations on September 25th.

CPS Grad You Should Know: Jordyn Nevers

Jordyn’s an Art Director with a wild and woolly eye. She’s got Illustrated beasts for National Geographic, a photoshoot involving Hazmat suits on public transport and the first campaign since the 1950’s to make you associate washing machines with space travel (so futuristic!). Bonus points: she’s been a movie extra (“Public Enemies”, 2009), is a Foursquare champ and is one of CPS’ best sardonic wits.

So you see, she’s exactly the kind of asset that your organization needs. Contact her here.

4Q Students Are Accomplished and Attractive

Best of Break (BOB) - the quarterly contest organized by Copywriter Adam Repp and Art Director Brittany Rubin - picked up (even more) steam its second time around. BOB II’s results were decided by a larger judging panel and the winners were announced at an even bigger bacchanal.

I’d say that BOB - and our Quarter itself - is getting better in every way, but I’m almost frighteningly biased. All BOB II entries can be scanned here.

Winners & organizers, pictured L-T-R:
Best Concept, Sam Bordignon; Brains Behind BOB, Brittany Rubin; Brains Behind BOB, Adam Repp; Best Art Direction, Ben Ong; Best Copy/Scribe-With-A-Vibe, Lyndsey Tonyan and Sarah Kennedy (not pictured); Best Design, Sloane Michel.
